The Tampa area unemployment rate was 6.8% in August, up 3.5 percentage points YOY

In August, two main sectors gained YOY jobs: Government (+3,100); and Construction (+1,400)

The industries losing the most jobs YOY: Leisure & Hospitality (-34,400 jobs) & Professional & Business Services (-10,300 jobs)
For the month of August, the Florida State Unemployment Rate was 7.4%, down 4.0 percentage points from July.

Up 0.6% from July 2020, The number of private-sector jobs increased by +46,000.

Statewide, the Florida labor force was up 143,000 (+1.4%) jobs during the month of August.
